This Autumn, a UK based iPad and iPhone App developer, introduces a unique and fun new App to the ever expanding iPad App market aimed at children and families. 

I’m Having A Bath is an interactive read-along rhyming story book with sounds and actions which allows children and parents to enjoy iPad technology together.  In contrast to other iPad stories which are based on a “read out loud” format with parents passing the iPad to their child to listen to the story alone, I’m Having A Bath purposely avoids this to allow families to share the story together.   

The rhyme is based on a group of animals who all appear in a bath and include a giraffe, frog and cow, among others.  The sounds and animations grip the child with new technology while the story is read by an adult maximising adult/child interaction and learning time together – a perfect blend of “old and new” ways of enjoying childhood stories.

The animations in I’m Having A Bath are based on old style illustrations we see in some of our favourite children’s books of yesteryear coupled with more modern styled technologically friendly images.  When viewed on the new iPad I’m Having a Bath boasts full HD graphics maximising these fabulous illustrations.

I’m Having A Bath has a number of learning advantages and is aimed at young children from the age of three upwards.  As well as the benefits to your children of reading to them I’m Having A Bath also helps with a child’s vocabulary by introducing rhyming skills along with interactive technological pushing buttons, such as bubbles and duck buttons, introducing children to information technology.

I’m Having a Bath is the creation of Tobytek develop Stuart Palmer.  After spending a holiday with his three year old nephew and reading him his favourite rhyming story, Stuart came up with the idea for an innovative, unique and fun interactive story book.  Stuart said “After spending my holiday reading to my nephew, it was obvious to me the importance of bonding and spending quality time reading with your children.  Over the following weeks I set out to develop a fun and invigorating interactive story and bring it to the iPad and I’m Having a Bath was born.  Needless to say, my muse for this App was my nephew and I beamed with pride when we shared it together for the first time and he said “That’s a really good story Uncle Stuart.” “
