With so much to see and do at the UK's biggest zoo, a visit to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is the perfect day out for people of all ages. Home to more than 2,500 animals, many of which are endangered in the wild, the Zoo’s impressive 600 acre (2.4 km2) site can be found on the Chiltern Hills, near Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
Daily events take place on site for visitors, including a selection of keeper talks, animal feeds and animal demonstrations. You can even stay overnight in one of the new Lookout Lodges. Up to date information on these, including times, can be found on the Zoo’s website
ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is open every day of the year from 10am except Christmas Day. Book tickets at zsl.org.
The Experience - Lookout Lodge
Lookout Lodge is a fantastic experience for animal lovers of all ages or those simply wanting to escape everyday life for a night. Lodge Lookout is nestled at the heart of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and gives visitors the chance to sleep surrounded by wild animals and spectacular scenery.
Guests stay in their own private lodge, all named after some of our most popular zoo residents. There are 8 lodges available, 5 of them have two twin beds and 3 have double beds. There is also a sofa bed in each lodge, which children can use on the family nights.

Be a Keeper for a Day
This amazing Keeper for a Day experience gives you a once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with some of ZSL’s most popular animals.
Activities vary from mucking out enclosures, to preparing food and devising enrichment activities, and of course, feeding and meeting some of our animals.
